The race of life

From the smallest of strokes come the greatest pieces of beauty.

Many of us create this imaginary finish line in our lives, we think once we cross the checkered line we will finally be happy. Once I make this much money I'll be content, after I win that award I'll be satisfied, once the world knows my name I will be where I want to be, Among other things this is what we live for. We won't be happy until we reach the goal we set in front of us. We very often look at the big picture trying to see how our life will end up if the goal is reached.

While looking at the big picture we overlook the details and tiny things in life. We may walk through fields of golden tipped flowers but are oblivious to their beauty. The happiness is in the beauty that surrounds us in the little things we do. When we take the time to notice the little things we see the bigger picture through new eyes. The worn and mundane become exciting and fulfilling. Our outlook, our steps and smiles become undeniable.

So don't forget to to admire the flowers you walk by every day and soak in the rays of life.
