Teaching

One day a conference was held to teach people how to succeed in the business world. People from all over the country flocked to the event to fill their minds with knowledge and learn from the best. The keynote speaker was a man of great success, saving hundreds of companies and teaching thousands of individuals. His speech of the day was to show you what your money can do for you. How it could change your life and make it better, which in turn, leads to being happy.

The speech was loved by the crowd giving a standing ovation at the end. Once finished their was a Q&A for all the attendees. Hundreds rushed to the mics set in the isles to find even more answers. After a 20 minute stint of rapid fire questioning the final man stepped to the mic to ask the man a question he'd never been asked.

"Are you happy" came from the sound system in the room. The speaker responds "Of course I'm happy I have had great success with both my personal and business life." "OK so let me rephrase this" the man from the mic says back. "Would you be happy if there wasn't so much success in your life, if you weren't dependent on what you've done to give you happiness would there still be happiness in your life." After a pause to think about the answer he responds "I believe I would." The mediator wraps it up leaving the question to burn in the mind of the professor.

After all the crowd is left the room the teachers sends someone to look for the man that asked him the last question so he could talk with him. After some time passes the two are able to meet and talk. The professor asks the man why he that question came up. The man responds "I have a small business myself, I'm doing fairly well and came here to learn from you. While you were speaking I heard in your voice years of hardship and trouble. You seem like you have all these great things but lack what matters the most, to be truly happy."

We can all learn something, even from those we teach.
